The team worked closely with the client to produce a bespoke process to effectively find candidates that would fit their detailed requirements, both technically and culturally. The brief required candidates to have between 1-4 years experience from Investment Banking or Management Consultancy backgrounds. Our client manages funds on behalf of institutional, professional intermediaries, and private clients providing them with access to single manager funds, structured investments, discretionary portfolio management, and fund of hedge funds. As one of the pioneers in multi manager funds specifically funds of hedge funds the client has a large proportion of assets invested across a wide range of hedge fund managers.
As part of on ongoing growth strategy to build investments into credit hedge funds the client wanted to hire a Portfolio Director to invest into Hedge Funds with Credit Arbitrage strategies. The firm had already been through an extensive search and had drawn a blank on experienced fund of hedge funds portfolio directors.

In order to effectively manage new assets and source opportunities, we were hired by an infrastructure fund to identify an asset manager with relevant industry-background. The client required someone with senior operational experience as well as grounding in finance and corporate acquisitions. This requirement for a particular balance of skills, plus a commercial outlook, presented a challenge as it is rather unique within this sector. To add to the brief the fund had made a number of recent acquisitions that required this hire to be working with the assets in a very short timeframe.
