PE Firms still recruiting during Covid-19

With a huge number of major financial hubs in lock-down due to the coronavirus pandemic, the private equity industry, like many others, is having to adapt to a changed environment. For many this means recruitment has taken a backseat as they deal with more pressing issues.

Naturally, firms are having to be really mindful about the bottom line, what the teams are and maybe re-purposing people to take on more responsibility.

However, we are seeing that private equity firms and placement agents are still thinking strategically about certain hires and that there is a need there for specific hires within specific teams.

Myself and Norgay Partners Mary Gay Townsend were asked to share our understandings on the current state of the private equity market with Private Equity International in their latest podcast. We discussed the differences between North America and Europe during the pandemic, how the crisis is affecting salaries and how candidates can make video conferencing work in their favour.
