The YMCA DownsLink Group is a charity whose mission is to tackle youth homelessness. They provide vital accommodation for vulnerable young people in Sussex and Surrey, supporting them and their wellbeing and helping to guide their futures with the tools they need.
With many of the Carpenter Farraday team living and working in Brighton, we are proud to partner with a local charity who help create such a positive difference in our city.
In July 2022 we joined almost 80 participants and took on the DownsLink Challenge, walking 17.5 miles along the Downs Link Pathway between Horsham and Shoreham-by-Sea. We faced scorching temperatures, blisters and even a wild donkey but made it to the end, exhausted and happy.
Our team were delighted to take part in the event and along with other participants from local businesses and DownsLink residents, the combined total raised exceeded £13,000. The money helps fund the amazing work the charity is doing and the projects they offer put young people facing homeless back on the path to independence and we were honoured to be a part of it.
