The YMCA DownsLink Group provide vital accommodation and support for vulnerable young people in Sussex and Surrey. Their objective is to help fight homelessness and to give youths and their families the provisions to nurture a brighter future.
This was Carpenter Farraday’s second year taking part in the DownsLink challenge, a 17.5 mile walk across the Sussex downs from Horsham to Shoreham, and further strengthened our partnership with the local charity who help create such a positive change.
We joined over 100 participants and took on the challenge, armed with positivity (and snacks). Despite gloomy weather forecasts, we were once again blessed with a dry day. We met other corporate partners, staff members, volunteers and residents from the houses the charity work with. It was an amazing, and humbling, experience to complete the challenge alongside so many inspirational people.
Once again, we were thrilled to help contribute to the brilliant, combined total raised, which exceeded £13,000. The money helps fund the projects the YMCA DownsLink offer to put young people facing homelessness back on the path to independence, and we were privileged to be a part of such an important event.
